On 8 July 2026, Australian fashion designer Lee Matthews and Damien said “I do” at Château du Pujolet, a historic estate hidden in the Lauragais countryside, just outside Toulouse. Forty guests, many of whom had crossed the world, gathered for three days of celebration that felt like a fashion show, a dinner among friends and a work of art all at once. The wedding was later featured in Vogue France.

Behind this weekend was the eye of Viviane and FÖLA Styling. Her vision, her dedication and her attention to every little thing Lee and Damien needed turned their wedding into the most wonderful day it could possibly be.

A château wedding near Toulouse

Lee and Damien had not planned to marry near Toulouse, until they discovered Château du Pujolet. The estate offered everything they were looking for: the intimacy of a private home, the romance of French history and the freedom to bring their closest friends together for a whole weekend, from the rehearsal dinner to the last dance.

A chartreuse wedding dress, designed by the bride

Known for wearing almost only black, Lee chose the opposite for her own wedding: a bold chartreuse gown in shot Italian taffeta, paired with a voluminous silk georgette cape, all designed by herself. She changed looks throughout the weekend, while Damien wore a classic black Dior suit. Guests followed a strict palette of black, ivory, khaki, brown and nude, which made the bride’s colour shine even more.

Still-life florals, lemons and chrome

Lee is not a big fan of flowers, so the idea was never a classic floral wedding. Instead, the décor was imagined as a series of sculptural still lifes, brought to life by the eye of florist and designer Naudy – La Vie Simplement, who adapted beautifully to every last-minute change: sculptural anthuriums, green carnations and calla lilies rising from chrome and crystal, a grazing table mixing fruit, vegetables and objects, and a spectacular cascade of lemons by the pool. Lee illustrated every menu and piece of stationery herself, down to custom matchboxes handmade in England.

From a Spanish band to a secret nightclub

The day moved from an emotional ceremony to a Spanish band at cocktail hour, then a long French dinner full of speeches and laughter, with wines from the couple’s favourite Loire Valley and Bordeaux estates. The night ended in a secret nightclub, where a DJ kept everyone dancing until late.

The wedding content

I was so honoured when Viviane from FÖLA Styling reached out to me to join the team and capture every moment of the weekend, from the welcome dinner to the pool party brunch. I was blown away by the boldness of it all and by such a strong sense of style. Every detail and every moment carried a meaning, like an echo of their story, and it was powerful.
